This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on October 13th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

  1. Windows 10 version 2004 - KB4579311 Build 19041.572
  2. Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 - KB4574727, Build 18362.1139 and 18363.1139
  3. Windows 10 versions 1809 - KB4570333, Build 17763.1518

IMPORTANT Windows 10, version 1809, will reach end of service on November 10, 2020 for devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions. These devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10.

    Excuses, excuses. Not your fault. Blame someone else.  That is whats going on in Redmond.

    The real problem is leadership at MS. So many bad decisions approved by managers and project management.

    Forcing users to accept changes they don't want but managers feel they have the power to override users settings. 

    The real solution is to listen to what the users are saying and not the share holders. Typical big businesses "too big to fail" mentality.

    With this big head sh*t, and "history" from "successes" like when IE was introduced, MS leaders approve forced updates, including forcing Edge on everybody. But forcing is a nice way of putting it. More like strong-arming users into accepting this unwanted change. 

    Managers see this as successful because Edge user count is increasing. So keep pushing! 

    There isn't a day that i don't have to revert my default PDF and htm* default applications away from Edge, or should we call it Wedge? And it isn't easy to fix for the average user.

    This process will continue until someone powerful enough starts a class action lawsuit.

    Hey Neil, thanks for offering an alternative option.

    I tried it with the latest Build 1903 version. And hit a wall again.

    It returned with Windows 10 installation failed - so much for a helpful error message 🤦‍♂️

    I'm going to try speaking to a human over Get Help tomorrow.

    Worst case scenario, I may have to do the nuclear Reset PC option. Sigh.

    it seems that the october update is creating a conflict with the AMD dedicated grapchics card
