Bad news, things seem ~better~ with Ram in single channel, but I have still had a few crashes since last week. Unfortunately haven't had a lot of free time so I'm not sure I can even confidently say it's better, but it's definitely not fixed 100%. 

I also just sent in a pretty comprehensive crash log to AMD via the bug report too, which also included a link to this thread. Really hoping I end up hearing from them at some point and can maybe do some troubleshooting with them.

I've been bamboozled, I forgot I tried a clean remove and update of drivers last week and went to the latest radeon release, 21.4.1 and it seems like that may be the source of my """new""" crashes. I'm now getting a different but comically similar message in event viewer:

Not sure if this is just AMD updating the naming of the driver or if this is actually a different part of it. But, there was a 4 day break where I got no warnings, then there's multiple of this one in every day my computer was on. I just got done rolling back to the 21.3.2 release, so we'll see how that does over the next few days.

I have been struggling with this same problem, it started about a week ago. I have RX 570 card, AMD 8350 processor.  I was getting multiple crashes a day, no consistent pattern, could be gaming, could be waking up from sleep mode, could be just browsing files. Sometimes black screen, sometimes just everything froze.

I tried almost everything listed on this thread and nothing worked. 

I noticed that AMD released updated drivers on 2/1/2021. I did a complete uninstall of old drivers, installed new, still had crashes.

Last things I did before the problem was cleared up for at least 24 hours now:

• Put video card in other PCI slot
• Plugged different power cable into video card (one line with two connectors, I just switched to the other one)
• Moved CPU fan mounted to heat sink over a bit so that it wasn't touching RAM chips.

I don't know if or how any of these three may have solved the problem, but once I powered on after these changes, the frequent freezes stopped.

Just thinking about the last post and some of the other observations here - is it possible the cause of this problem is the card intermittently losing power? Even if there was a small voltage drop for just a microsecond - would that cause the clock to falter as the last poster observed?

With problems like these, sometimes it's a very small flaw in a wire or connector. This is what happened with my washing machine of all things - repair guy replaced several parts, still couldn't fix it. I got fed up, got my own multi-tester and the service manual, found intermittent connectivity in the main wiring harness, power to motor was getting cut off when the whole thing vibrated on spin cycle. I spliced the wires, and the washer runs 100% now. The repair guy was like - well I've never encountered that in blah blah blah years. Arg.

Anyhow, I'm thinking it could have been just a slight fault in either the pci connector, the power connector, or perhaps the cpu fan was pushing just a little bit against the ram chips.

If crashes resume, I will follow up with a picture of my PC being flung out the window.

From what I can see both our motherboards use standard AMD Chipset drivers, however the latest version on Gigabyte's website for B450M is 2.09.28.509 (Nov 5 2020), while MSI is on 2.10.26.336 (Dec 11 2020).

It might not be a chipset thing, it can be 1 faulty peripheral that causes all that (and by faulty it can just be a minor compatibility issue that causes all this), it can also be all GPU related, or it's Windows, or a perfect storm of X,Y and Z...

Unfortunately we're "just" users with a similar problem and we're doing our best to report a problem, find a source, and hopefully a fix, but without professional support, we're limited. And as in most computer related issues, everybody will say it's not their problem and it's someone else's fault.

The more we experiment, try with different things plugged in, with different monitors, with different drivers, the closer we'll be to a source, and eventually a solution, but for the moment all we have is this thread, since all other "solutions" found online doesn't work for us.

It's been a while, since my last report I didn't get any crashes.

AMD CPU and nvidia GPU  on Acer notebook here.

I have 3rd party software controller (redragon mouse and logitech headset) and use the Geforce manager, never linked it to the problem.

Also, I've been playing Divinity2 and CoD modern warfare demanding the maximum from system, never crashed.

**The ONLY situation with crashes really was sharing presentation on Microsoft Meeting** (ok, and *once* playing when I first reported, can't remember the game). Never did a reinstall (but I do keep windows 10 and GPU drivers always updated), the problem magically stopped along MS Meeting presentations.

Good luck to you all, since the companies are ignoring the problem (my bet still goes to Windows 10).
