Dear mrdbeta,
Thanks again. I followed your recommendations – see below what happened.
But I also would like to clarify the legal liability following your advice? Since this is a Windows user forum and you are replying as advisor are you or Windows accepting legal liability if your advice is not correct or goes wrong? Since I am using a quite expensive convertible laptop model (hardware price was approx. 1700 EUR) in my view the liability for the trouble shooting needs to be clear and confirmed. The damage with the autorotation function clearly happened because of the faulty official Windows functional update 2OH2 last week.
As mentioned earlier I reserve the right to take legal actions.
However, I tried to follow your advice as far as I felt this is save: Here my replies:
- Regarding the link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/hid/minidriver-requirements-for-tablet-pcs-running-on-earlier-versions-of-windows : This link is not applicable since my laptop was purchased new with Win10 already installed. This laptop has never been running on an earlier version of Windows. I am therefore considering any installations from the linked site as too risky without the liability of your advice being clearly confirmed – therefore I did not proceed this path any further.
- Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver for HID PCI Minidriver for ISS: Yes, I have checked this already on Thursday. I even reinstalled from Fujitsu website although there was no update requirement. Just to make sure that the latest version is installed.
- Windows Diagnostics:
When pressing continue the diagnostics asks for restart, but then when again starting the diagnostics the error still remains unchanged and the program is unable to resolve.
- The first Youtube video on your post shows a very different and much older Fujitsu model. I have Lifebook T936. Example: There are no rotation buttons below the screen on my model, since rotating should (!) happen automatically in tablet mode, nicely demonstrated in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn3HobeC9Zk
- Update history: The following (see screenshot, sorry for German) updates have been installed on November 11th as recommended by Windows Update Manager:
(The last update before was on October 16th (see screenshot below). Autorotation in tablet mode was working until the update process has been started on the evening Nov. 11th.)
As per the Windows update manager there are currently no further Windows Updates available
- Using Tablet mode constantly when troubleshooting is ok. I am not used to this yet, but will manage and do from now on. Any specific reason?
- Device Manager: Note that there are four (4) HID PCI Minidrivers for ISS, all 4 have the error message (see below).
I tried the procedure for each of them – same result everywhere.
- Uninstall KB4579311 or KB4580364 from Windows Update. I cannot find these in the list of updates.
KB4579311 is listed as having been installed on 2020-10-16, therefore before the last Windows update which caused the autorotation problem. However, I cannot find a possibility to uninstall this update.
KB4580364 is not listed as being installed.
However, under Driverupdates there appears to be the error with the four Minidrivers listed (see below)
- I am not sure about the last part of your post and am a bit worried to touch the steps described in https://www.thewindowsclub.com/hid-compliant-touch-screen-missing.
E.g., my touchscreen works troublefree – I don’t want that this function gets destroyed too.
- The correct solution would be that Microsoft connects remotely to repair the issues experienced after the last update.
When going into Installed updates it shows that list of updates installed on 11.11.2020 is huge:
There have been:
52 (!!) Microsoft Sharepoint Designer Updates- I guess all these should not cause any issues since they appear to relate to office applications
3 Microsoft Windows Updates and they seem to be available for uninstalling.
Should I unstall? Aything that can happen when doing?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
