Trying to update to Windows11 22h2 but always fails even when trying to install fresh ISO

I've been trying to update to the latest Win11pro 22h2 since last December. Not working well at all. It always gets to 98% and then "something happened" and it rolls it back to 21h2 as you see below. I've tried everything except to nuke the SDD and treat it like is was a new unit. Not really wanting to go that route.

I started just with the Windows update, no joy.

moved to the ISO, mounted and install, no joy.

turned off my Antivirus and tried above two methods again, no joy.

uninstalled my Antivirus and tired above two methods again, no joy.

I've been reading these forums and trying their ideas, no joy.

need a little help here I guess to move forward. I've pasted my machine info below and there are links to SETUPACT.log, SETUPAPI.LOG, and a screen shot of the error after a reboot from trying to install from ISO and it did its automatic roll back.

Pls check the log sizes. They're the same:

If you can manually upload these two files, that would be helpful.

    • setupapi.dev.log
    • setupmem.dmp

If not, we can try a different approach: eliminating most 3rd party drivers using FRST and uninstalling third-party programs that run a service.

took a bit to find them, but here's the links. I think I also found the issue with the cloud copy/paste:

I'm using a Logitec mouse across my desktop AND laptop. It normally allows me to copy from one desktop and paste on the other. apparently, it wasn't updating the "mouse's copy".

I'll be more careful on that. Try these below:

    setupapi.dev.log: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApNnd0WJC5zahWGiN5DFqgFlo7qM?e=ApTLh0

    LogZip https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApNnd0WJC5zahWDIQyb1m4gyR76a?e=BrhTJg

It looks to me like you have many older drivers on your system. It might help to clean some of those up and I haven't seen anyone suggest this. Run the first command and see what it shows. If you want to clean up the items identified, run the second command.

    Use an admin command prompt.

    DISM /online /cleanup-image /AnalyzeComponentStore

    DISM /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup

    I also have not seen a 2/15 setupact.log

Setupapi.dev.log is newer. It no longer shows the old errors.. thanks to PnpUtil. The Logs.zip archive is still a stale copy.

Please create a system image backup using Macrium Reflect Free, and store the image in an external drive. This is in case you want to revert to the original configuration later.

Then download Autoruns and run it as administrator. Press Ctrl + S to save the entries to a .ARN log file.

Download FRST (64-bit) and run a scan (with the default settings). It outputs two files, namely, FRST.txt and Additions.txt.

Pls upload FRST.txt, Additions,.txt, and Autoruns .ARN log.

Note: Your BIOS version is still old:

    BIOS release date : 20180710000000.000000+000

By the way, that was from your 2nd Setupact.log: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApNnd0WJC5zahV3zhoWHQEcORnhN?e=9eXsfH. Perhaps you applied the BIOS update after uploading this, I am not sure.

    latest Setupact.log:

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApNnd0WJC5zahWQXCjRHDOR2NiaV?e=M8rg6u

I also ran both of these commands as suggested:

    DISM /online /cleanup-image /AnalyzeComponentStore

    DISM /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup

I just tried to update Win11 again with the IOS vers to overwirite up to latest. This is where the Setupact.log comes from.
