Windows 11 will not show incompatible drivers

In new windows 11 up to date as of writing this. Core isolation memory integrity does not work and will not turn on. Every time I scan for incompatible drivers, none are listed. Checked the windows update, the system is up to date, and no errors in device drivers were found. All drivers appear up to date. BIOS most recent available (the same driver that was installed prior to this error occurring. None of the threads seem to address this, only ones where the driver is known. The DG readiness tool is not user-friendly for everyday users. Need a solution that can be done at home without having to be an IT guru or MSCE certified. It will not let me upload the screenshot or picture, keep getting errors in that as well.

    Hi hst222

EDIT: This paragraph is irrelevant, as far as I can tell: These new-ish Dell's (bought early 2022) did come with Win10 installed and were (manually) upgraded with Win11 iso during deployment. So if this problem is caused by upgrading from Dell Win10 with Win11.ISO -- or in a few cases factory reset with BIOS restore of OS via Dell installed Win11 -- then I am curious what about that upgrade is causing this.

Also, some of our machine CAN turn on Memory Integrity while others CANNOT due to this inscrutable "driver incompatibility" issue, but I don't have a way of knowing which machine was upgraded by which method.

EDIT: I read your latest post after responding to your previous post, so now I will try your response to me re Dell Instrumentation driver. BRB.

EDIT: I see oem118.inf (Dellinstrumentation.inf) and Driver Details says Dellinstrumentation.sys. It is not grayed out.

I will confirm on Google before I do. (yes!)

EDIT: note, sometimes Dellinstrumentation.inf = oem118.inf but sometimes a different oem###.inf on other workstations. This make sense in that this Dell driver is what I would call a "virtual driver" for a service, vs a genuine hardware driver.

EDIT: Yes, I had uninstalled Dell's SupportAssist oem software. On various workstations, on random occasions, SupportAssist would use 97-99% memory. This caused apps to crash (Inventor, with an unsaved drawing), cause OS to crash, made it difficult for a user to do anything to escape. I could open Task Mgr to kill SupportAssist. I removed it everywhere.)

    EDIT: deleted irrelevant info here

I haven't used filebin, so that is not me.

As I mentioned, this is getting way to complicated for me, so I'll just leave as is and someday Microsoft/Dell will accidently fix the problem.

    Thanks anyway

    Glenn

Still not sure if you (Glenn) are the filebin person or someone else. The filebin message came in as "HelpDesk Anon". Anyway, it's too tedious to go over this here. If you contact me, I will divulge the solution I prefer not to give here for reasons I posted elsewhere. Warning: I will recommend me remoting in but you will have a chance to vet me in a variety of places I email you (linkedin, thumbtack, etc.).

DellInstrumentation was not grayed out, but listed as OEM#. I uninstalled both of them but Dellinstrumentation still shows up in Task Manager after reboot. I also uninstalled Support assist. Can't find out where to actually uninstall DellInstrumentation. No grayed out drivers or driver errors shown in control panel. Memory Integrity still won't activate due to incompatible driver that it won't show. It probably is a Dell caused problem, but I think I'll give up. I have a 2nd Dell, same model & configuration, and it does not have the problem.

Okay, is someone other than Glenn? No problem. If it's someone else, I am curious if this is a new Windows 11 machine or Win10->Win11 migrated (Glenn, consider using https://filebin.net/  as this fellow did)

Here is what you might consider doing and be careful of course. This applies to Windows 11 only.

    1. if you applied the HypervisorEnforcedCodeIntegrity hack, undo it (change the DWORD back to 0 and restart the computer)
    2. confirm you cannot turn on System Integrity through Settings (get the blank results)
    3. Go to the Device Manager and in the View tab select "Devices by Driver" (this is a Windows 11 feature)
    4. The list shown is in alphabetical order. Look for DellInstrumentation and note if it is grayed out. Likely is. DellInstrumentation is not necessary and can be uninstalled. DellInstrumentation can be confirmed in Google searches to not be necessary except for SupportAssist and it appears you uninstalled Support Assist and all the other Dell "stuff" anyway. Do you agree?
    5. Right click on DellInstrumentation and select uninstall and confirm uninstalling
    6. Restart the computer
    7. See if you can turn on System Integrity through Settings

If you still can't turn on System Integrity, then if there are other grayed out items in step 4, please post their names here.
