Issue with Windows Hello on Windows 11 - fingerprint recognition option currently unavailable

Hi, I’m having an issue adding a new fingerprint on Windows 11, when I click on the sign in options it says “this option is currently unavailable” and to try again later, the button to set up another finger is greyed out. Log in is working with the fingerprint I have set up put I want to use another finger. What can I do to solve this? My laptop is the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 if that helps any. Thanks xx

This is pretty incomprehensible to me. I have a microsoft accout which microsoft keep updating and now seem to have produced an update which stops the laptop functioning properly. Surely we need another update which sorts this problem at your end siince it was caused by your updates.

Hi I had the same issue. I was using Fingerprint to sign in fine up until recently.

As I was going through the troubleshoot, I realized that I don't even have the fingerprint reader under Human Interface Device.

How can I install that on my computer?
