How to turn off Windows security asking me for a password to see my Google Chrome passwords

I don't have that setting on my 2013 laptop.

Just to point out, if you've ever had someone come and sit at your computer when you weren't looking, you do NOT want to have this turned off. That goes double if this is at work or some other shared location, and not just in your house. If you have left your computer unlocked and someone opens Chrome, they can get into your entire life if you sync your passwords.

It's also possible if you get malware on your computer - and, seriously, if you're looking for ways to turn off security features because they annoy you, then I'm going to imagine that it's fairly likely you will - some of these can open up your passwords list and grab everything, unless Chrome is set to ask you for your PC login when someone asks to open up the list.

It may be a huge inconvenience (really? A password is a huge inconvenience?) but so is having to use a key to open your house. Better leave it open. Better still, a door is an unnecessary barrier to coming home with grocery bags, so remove it. Please just think about what you're doing, and not just that passwords are annoying. You're saving having to remember hundreds of different passwords, by hiding them behind one password that you can type quickly since you do it so often. Don't make the mistake of hiding all these passwords behind absolutely nothing.

Had same issue and chrome settings were fine. Problem is your Windows / MS account.

Now turning this off is a security risk but I will trust you are an adult and accountable for the things you purchase & do. With that said:

Found solution because I had same issue. It asks because you are logged into MS account on Pc Windows. Probably logged in when setting up new PC/OS. If you go to your settings/accounts and switch to local account, it will sign you out of MS account and create local admin account. You can select skip/next when prompted for password - not fill it in - if you don't want login at reboot/wake.

I DO NOT want anyone to save my passwords----I keep getting an annoying pop-up
