Hi Rick,

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. I'll do my best to help you.

Looks like you're getting a popped up of iCloud on your startup.

This usually occurs when it's enabled on Startup Settings.

To disable it, please follow the steps below:

Press right click the Start Menu and choose Task Manager, then select the Startup tab and right-click iCloud and select Disable.

Restart your device and it should not popped up on your startup.

Please let me know the result. I'll be happy to assist you all the way until it's resolved.

Thank you,

Christine L

I need to use iCloud so all of the work arounds to disable or uninstall it are not a fix. Has anyone actually resolved this issue? NOBODY from Microsoft or Apple has chimed in on this issue and how to fix it. The pop up window is absolutely annoying. Also, every day it forces me to re-authenticate to it again with my 2 factor auth process. I can leave the pop up window on the screen somewhere to the side so it is out of the way as it keeps coming up even when you click the X to get rid of it. There is a flaw in the app and Apple or Microsoft need to find a way to fix this.

When will someone have an actual fix that works and still allows the iCloud for Windows to keep working but without the pop-ups?

Windows 11 Pro here fully patched etc. I felt compelled to reply.

    1. I started experiencing this issue yesterday and did a lot of the steps outlined by others in this thread
    2. I locked my family out of iCloud by trying to log in too many times - so we reset the iCloud PW and still the issue persisted
    3. Next, I disabled the start-up apps on Task Manager (while this would work for a short period, the app would suddenly reappear)
    4. Looked at disabling background processes under Task Manager but still no go.

Here are the steps I took today and so far so good.

    1. Restarted the computer
    2. Logged into the Windows iCloud app and kept the iCloud app open on my desktop
    3. I went to the Settings / Apps / Installed Apps
    4. Found the iCloud App and clicked the "..." icon on the right for Advanced Options
    5. Clicked "On" all the "Runs at log-In" tasks (they were in the off position)
    6. Finally scrolled down the page until I got to the Reset / Repair button and I "Repaired" the iCloud App

So far so good. Results can and will vary - Good luck :)

    Hi...
It is best to ring up Apple free help support; they are determined to get it sorted!
}He informed me then that sometimes this happens, and when it does, just sign in and then it will leave one alone for another 2-3 months!
Mmm, not prefect, but that only takes about 30 seconds!

But See what they say to you!
    Good luck!!
    Julian :)

There are so many Icloud tabs, not merely 'icloud'!! I disabled Icloud push' & I'll see what happens!
