Hi Rick,

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. I'll do my best to help you.

Looks like you're getting a popped up of iCloud on your startup.

This usually occurs when it's enabled on Startup Settings.

To disable it, please follow the steps below:

Press right click the Start Menu and choose Task Manager, then select the Startup tab and right-click iCloud and select Disable.

Restart your device and it should not popped up on your startup.

Please let me know the result. I'll be happy to assist you all the way until it's resolved.

Thank you,

Christine L

YES me too! I've searched the internet and can't find a way to shut it down. I finally resized it, and moved it, until i can figure out how to dump it.

    Omar,

This “Christine” person is just giving out mis-information.

I had iCloud working ok on this Win 11 machine, with bookmark syncing (Chrome to multiple Safari clients), and iCloud Drive. iCloud provides features not present in Microsoft OneDrive. I got this working by following two users’ suggestions; one from a Microsoft support forum and one from an Apple support forum.

Then I installed a Dell BIOS firmware update yesterday, rebooted, and now iCloud is broken again. The app will run, but pops up it’s status window on top of whatever else is on the screen, even though it’s not doing anything.

Quick fix for this is to log out of iCloud (which will delete your local copy of iCloud drive files). After you log out, close the iCloud window.

Then right-click on the iCloud start menu item and select "more"-"run as administrator." Log in to iCloud, but do not turn on any services. After clicking “finish,” go back to iCloud and first turn on password sync and wait for it to finish. Then go back to iCloud turn on the other services you use. That will get you working without passwords or pop-ups until you need to reboot. And all your iCloud drive files will reload after the app is working again.

But you’ll need to research the web to find the correct solution (for your system) to get iCloud working again without going through this routine again each time you reboot the computer.

There were 5 iClouds listed. I disabled all that were not disabled then thought that some had said Not Measured because you only said to disable the one that was labeled "iCloud" and "Enabled" the other 4 before I disabled them, just in case Keychain and the others are shared and the restart will correct everything. You only mentioned the one and figured I can always come back and disable the other 4 if needed. Thank you!

    James
