As an observation only, win11 only auto updates win critical updates, it doesnt auto updated drivers, these should be obtained only from the PC makers support site, or mobo if a self build, and any third party card/device makers
Sound issues since I upgraded to Windows 11 (Focusrite Interface)
Hello
I recently upgraded to Win11 and everything seemed fine at first. It wasn't until later when I wanted to talk to friends over discord, that I discovered sound issues with my audio interface.
While using headphones and mic over my interface, everything seems fine at first but all sound suddenly skips or stops completely and my mic gets a 2-4 seconds delay which can be fixed temporarily by changing the sample rate in the focusrite software.
But it just works for a while until suddenly the same thing happens again.
I use a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 (2nd Gen) and it was already acting weird before the upgrade but only in discord. (mic crackling)
Installed Process Lasso to change audio processing from all cores to a single core and things worked perfectly fine.
But after the Win11 upgrade, things started to get chaotic.
I gotta mention I also have a Beacn Mix Create and also EarTrumpet installed. Everything worked perfectly fine on Win10.
I've so far tried
-to change sample rate and buffersize in the focusrite software.
-Uninstalled all drivers and installed everything one by one to see if I could isolate the issue.
-disabled process lasso (which brought the old issues back (mic crackling))
-ordered a new cheap but good interface from a different brand, just to check if the same problems occure(hasn't arrived)
I should also try to use one of my interfaces output to send my mic signal to the mic input on my mainboard. It should work, but I don't want this to be the solution.
I alternatively tried using my Webcam mic and it seems to be working.
My DAW and guitar amp simulator work too. But they access the interface directly.

I did a manual win11 update. And I've also installed mobo drivers, which didn't do anything unfortunately.

2023-03-20T15:38:06+00:00 Same problem here with Win 11 and Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen. Audio suddenly starts lagging behind, system wide (windows sounds, browser, skype, video files, anything). I can fix it if i change the Sample Rate in Focusrite Control or if i restart the system, but it's a temporary fix, as it is bound to happen again, eventually. I noticed the trigger for me is usually using the internet while using skype. I am using Win 11 almost since it came out, and only started having this problem about 2 weeks ago. Any fix would be much appreciated. :)

2023-04-25T17:44:06+00:00 I have been having the same problem with Windows 11 since June of last year. SO frustrating. My main issues occur while streaming music like Spotify, then when I execute other processes like loading a script heavy web page, or opening other programs - the sound will pause and then be delayed, or it will skip and start crackling like CRAZY, with lots of distortion.
The only way I can fix it is to unplug the interface, and plug it back in. I do this probably 10 times a day because I'm a voice teacher and use my computer audio all the time.
The audio has no issues playing from my computer, or over 3.5 aux port. This is a USB issue with Windows 11. I think the power is occasionally lowered or is dropped for the USB ports for power management, and it wreaks havoc.
I've installed the latest Focusrite drivers multiple times, told the system to optimize background processes, turned off power saving in the control panel for every USB device in the list, stopped getting Windows Insider Preview builds, nothing has fixed this.
MICROSOFT PLEASE FIX YOUR USB ISSUES IN WINDOWS 11!

2023-05-16T18:55:55+00:00 I have the same issue. I use MS Teams for work-related virtual meetings and within a few minutes there is a significant audio delay. I have to switch drivers quickly in settings (or lately just unplug the 2i2) so I can use laptop audio and continue the meeting. I've re-installed both Windows drivers as well as Focusrite software multiple times. Is everyone certain this is a Windows 11 issue and not a Focusrite issue?
