Resolve Install Error - 0x80070103 Windows 11 Pro

***UPDATE, I DID NOTHING AND TONIGHT MY COMPUTER NO LONGER SHOWS THESE ERRORS. MICROSOFT MUST HAVE FIXED IT***

Please help me to resolve this matter.

The troubleshooting steps I see listed do not work with an updated current Surface Laptop 4.

I am pleased to report that the Windows Update team at Microsoft was able to resolve this problem on 2/16/2023, at around 10:30am PST.

    On my HP Pavillon (15-cs2026ng, 22H2, 22621.1265, Win 11 home), this did not work.

    Hey Guys,

    Following 6 steps work fine. Please try to resolve the issue of Install Error - 0x80070103 Windows 11

    Try flushing or deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder.

    This is a temporary folder for Windows Update files. If these files become corrupted, you will encounter error codes such as the one you are getting as 0x80070103.

    1. First, stop the Windows Update Services. For this, open Command Prompt in administrator mode and type the below-mentioned commands and press Enter after each command.

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptsvc

    1. Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\ Windows and locate the SoftwareDistribution folder.
    2. Delete the SoftwareDistribution folder.
    3. Open Command Prompt again in the administrator mode.
    4. Type the following command and press enter (it will start the Windows Update service again):
      net start cryptsvc
    5. Restart your system and check for Windows update then lastly it will give you message that your system is up to date.
