I have used another app called.. Windhawk.
It was very easy to use. Win 11 is running just fine with it installed. (version 23H2)
Here is a link to the Windhawk program. https://windhawk.net/
You can even remove the app afterwards.. just be sure to tell it to "save the app settings" if you do remove it and save the vertical taskbar setting.
Here is a video on how to set it all up.

Windhawk also has a lot of other options for Win 10 and Win 11.
It seems to be more of a collection of available apps rather than an app in itself that does all of the changes it has available.

I used Windhawk to move the Taskbar to be be vertical on the left of the screen and it is working great!
Download the Winhawk app to select and make the changes.
Using this next option allows you to see all of the available Mods that Windhawk has to offer before downloading it.
You can also just select the desired modification you want to use right from the Windhawk webpage and it will have you download the Windhawk app and then you can make the changes.
Windhawk has over 100 different "Mods" available for a variety of Windows and other "fixes".
Check them out at their website by selecting the "Mods" box at the upper right of the home page.
With the app installed you can revert back to normal at any time or select another option they call "mods".
To revert back to normal if you have removed the app... just go to the website and download the app again and run it and you are set.
