How do i fix no audio device installed in windows 11?

I am encountering the same message ("No audio device detected") on a brand new Dell tower unit - not a laptop. My IT guy tried everything in his bag of tricks to no avail. After several hours and several hundred dollars of his time, the workaround he came up with was for me to purchase a "Sound Blaster Play! 3" USB dongle, plug that into the tower unit, and run the speakers from that - bypassing the internal sound card altogether. It works, but it's galling, to say the least. And for all of you with laptops, it's not going to help. Sorry.

The problem is windows 11 sadly it's likely they have programmed in something to bomb systems using dated hardware and that can sometimes happen in a new and even high end device just because they wanted to stick with something tried and tested but microsoft don't agree it seems and until someone other that Raju actually reaches out with a solution or at least an explanation to why this problem only seems to affect laptops and not desktops even with matching audio devices on the boards (my laptop and desktop both use the same realtek audio device but my desktop mobo is 2 years older manufacture date than my laptop)

I Contacted Acer about this exact issue and even sent them my laptop for repairs but i got it back unfixed and they told me to contact microsoft as it is an OS issue they can't fix, my laptop is still under warranty (i got 5 year extended) but i installed win 11 when they started with the free upgrade promos and was promised performance improvements at the time on the low end laptop which was the case for about 6 months and then with the first major update i started to have issues, my desktop that i built myself has older components than the laptop yet sound works find on my desktop still but i've had nothing but issues for months, the real kicker is that both the desktop and laptop have realtek audio devices and from what i've looked up its the same hardware as its a super common chip from realtek that they are still manufacturing for latest gen amd devices so absolutely nothing stated here by anyone makes any real sense as two basically identical devices should have matching situations but clearly windows developers have done something to cripple laptops before they are at end of life.

So after saying all of this Raju can you actually be a useful mod and escalate this issue to be seen by someone who actually can represent microsoft officially and not just be taking wild guesses at best like the normal people commenting on this, your a mathematician not a developer or programmer, cause as this stands i'm better off writing my own unsigned driver to try and force activation of the device and that's a maybe at best for a solution and it almost guarantees risk to the rest of my system and is a few weeks of work at best for a novice programmer like me to a problem i shouldn't be working on a solution for at all and microsoft should have had the brains to avoid in the first place

What's wrong seems to be that you made the mistake of accepting Microsoft's relentless nagging to convert your OS from Windows 10 to Windows 11, which is obviously not designed to work with older hardware with older audio parameters. MS is telling people to go buy a new computer with an upgraded intel chip that Win 11 was written to work with. Aint that nice.

I have a new (12/2023) Dell XPSi7 with Win 11 pre-installed and the latest RealTek and NVidia cards and drivers. And I'm suddenly getting the same message: "No audio device is installed." So the problem lies elsewhere....but where?

"Smart Sound Technology" is not in the vocabulary of my cheap computer nor the inexpensive Roku TV that I was feeding sound thru. Ironically, the visual part of the interface between cheap computer and cheap TV continues in my situation without fault, but not the sound.

And as someone else recently pointed out, the problem happened when I foolishly upgraded from Win10 to Win11, so it was definitely caused by a destructive Windows OS change imposed by Microsoft, nothing else. So, Microsoft needs to fix it, not hardware manufacturers.

I suppose that some people are getting around this problem because they have different hardware/software combinations that the demons of Redmond provided for in their creation of the Win11 Frankenstein monster but I can't imagine what multitude of people at the lower end of the economic scale have been devastated by MS' totally irresponsible approach of ignoring many computer configurations. I still suspect it was a marketing strategy to push people into buying new equipment with new software and/or pay $$$ to access MS support, which may not be any better than what you see on these web sites.
