Got it. You fortunately downloaded a debugged version of the Win11 Install. I would follow your procedure except for the part where you formatted the entire drive. That may be the crucial step but I have too many apps and stored files on that computer to do that. So, thanks for your postings but I think I'd best just keep on suffering the lack of sound that was seemingly caused by a Microsoft update. Its more of an archival PC anyway, not my day-to-day separate computer on which I am ardently hanging on to Win10 that works a lot better for me than Win11 anyway.
How do i fix no audio device installed in windows 11?
ive tried troubleshooting but it couldnt identify the problem
ive also tried rebooting my device
i also cant update my high definition audio device which i want to use because the other one doesnt work too(windws encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device code 10)

2024-09-05T22:54:12+00:00 Hello! Yeah, i understand what you are saying now. My issue started on my Windows 11 OS. I specifically believe it was an update from Avast that caused my issue. As soon as Avast updated my drivers and the computer restarted, The No Audio Device Detected message appeared.
I had to do a hard format of my hard drive.
To answer your questions specifically,
- I got a 32 gb flash drive and converted it into a bootable flash disk. To see how i did this Create a bootable USB flash drive | Microsoft Learn
- Next i use the microsoft media creation tool to copy the windows install program from the microsoft website into the flash drive Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
- Finally i changed the boot order on BIOS making the flash drive 1st priority so the computer boots from my flashdrive. This was how i did a clean install of windows 11 and my audio drivers came back!

2024-09-05T21:11:24+00:00 I'm asking how did Windows 11's install program get on your flash drive. Did you get a new install from Microsoft, in which case it could be different from the one we've all been suffering which originated from a notification by MS to upgrade from Win10 to Win11.
