Sending faxes using Windows 11.

Something missing here.

I thought it was in fact possible to seend free faxes without a phone line, but you are saying here on this occasion, referencing what I have previously written, that no this is indeed not possible.

After optional features. put fax in the search box. and when you get to Windows fax and scan, just install it..

When you want to use it. just open word. And justice as you would print. select fax instead of print. And then you will be able to fax..

Apparently, you cannot use Windows Fax and Scan to send a fax from your PC without connecting a phone line (and possibly a modem) to your PC.

If you wish to send a fax from your PC - whether a Word document or a PDF file - there are numerous third-party companies that provide this service, where you can upload a file and then the third-party service will send it as a fax.

I cannot speak to the document security of any of these companies.

I can say that nearly all of them advertise that you can send "free" faxes, but then ask you to pay a monthly or annual fee, often $49 - $129! So the "free" advertisement is patently false. Obviously installing software from a third party to your computer carries the usual risks.

This is just another classic example when free does not mean free.

I don't know what version of Windows 11 you have but in my version Win 11 Pro, pretty much most of the steps/settings you gave don't exist.

Mine doesn't even have a clue what Windows Fax and Scan is.
