Hi,

I have a soundcore q35 bluetooth headset. The headphones are working fine with bluetooth but the headset microphone is not connecting. I have tried multiple troublsehooters, driver updates and windows restarts. I have reset the device as well.

Please could you help me resolve this issue.

This worked for me. I selected my headphone driver alone, first disabled the device and then unsinstalled the driver.. After that I connected again, this time i could see the headphone in the input devices.

Rollback of Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio also worked for me. Root-cause is that windows somehow no longer manages to switch Bluetooth Codecs from A2DP to and from HSP and back for me when the microphone is needed (most likely due to incompatible driver versions). Interestingly, only the bluetooth audio driver was updated, so I presume some automated update scheduling was botched.

TLDR: Working versions of the two drivers on my machines were

    • 10.29.0.9677 for Intel Smart Sound Technology for Digital Microphones
    • 10.29.0.7687 for Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio

Rollback of this driver from 10.29.0.9947 to 10.29.0.7767 fixed the issue for me.

I have been suffering from this issue for a while, forgetting that I replaced my XPS 15's Killer Wireless card with Intel's. Once I figured this out, I discovered that my driver was extremely out of date, (2018 version), so I went to Intel's driver webpage and downloaded the latest driver, and it worked. The issue has been resolved completely for me.
