I seem to have just had this problem with a new Lenovo laptop. I tried for the first time to use my Samsung bluetooth earbuds in a WhatsApp call and I got the audio but it didn't recognize the microphone, "Headset" didn't show up in the list of Input devices in the sound settings.

Suggested by older posts in this thread I remembered that I'd installed all the optional windows updates too including all the drivers. So I just went to the Apps and uninstalled the Realtek audio thing, then rebooted. Now it works.

I had the same issue with my Dell XPS 9520 laptop... I found that when I did a windows 11 update it also updated my Intel Wireless Bluetooth Drivers which broke my Apple Earpods.. mic only worked intermittently and sometimes not at all..

To fix my issue I did the following :-

    • Went into device manager
    • Located the Bluetooth device tree
    • Expanded this and right clicked the "Intel {R} Wireless Bluetooth(R)" device
    • Select "Properties"
    • Select "Driver"
    • Select "Roll Back Driver"

    This fixed my issue.

Not sure what laptop/desktop you have some maybe this is not the fix for you.

    HTH,

    Paul.

    Hi All,

I had the same issue post a windows update. Not really sure what is trigger this problem, my Bose QC45 stopped working with the microphone, i was listening to music with it prefectly, no issues there but to make a call via teams was not ok and I was not able to use my headset with my laptop so was transferring the calls either in my phone or my ipad.

to me so far it seems like a windows update issue, i just update my operating system with the latest update from Microsoft for windows 11 and now the micrphone is successfully passing the test call in MS teams and showing active in all the sound setups.

Please update your laptop / workstation if you are facing similar issue that your bluetooth headset stopped working either with the headphone or with the microphone like me.

Please feel free to me know if this helped anyone.

    [SOLUTION]

    1. Open Settings app
    2. Click on Bluetooth & devices
    3. Click on Devices
    4. Turn Off 'Use LE Audio when available'
    5. Enjoy :)

In addition I can recomend an ultimate solution to view bluetooth battery level of any device, that is supporting this: https://workstation-master.com/bluetooth-battery-level.html

In my Case it was the combination of BT Driver Version and BIOS Version.

If you have a MediaTek Driver on an Asus Rog Flow, the BT Driver has to be V 1.1037.2.433 together with the latest BIOS Update: 316

    Hope that helps.
