You have to make sure that Bluetooth services are working in services.msc.

    You will have 3 services.

    Bluetooth audio gateway service

    Bluetooth support service

    Bluetooth user support service_18772c

Restart them if they are stopped and set them to automatic. They should be running.

Once running, connect your Bluetooth headphone. It will show up as both mic and audio now. This fixed the issue for me.

I had a similar issue. BLUF: I upgraded the Sound Card drivers to fix it.

I spent a lot of time thinking this was a Bluetooth issue, but in the end, it turned out to be a Sound driver issue. Windows update didn’t catch it. I went straight to the Dell website (my laptop brand) and manually downloaded/installed new drivers for my sound card. I also downloaded new Bluetooth drivers, but that didn’t resolve it.

    I really hope this helps:

I had a customer coming and asking to help her with her Soundcore Earbuds (no idea which model). Her Microphone wouldn´t get added, but only Sound would be transferred to her Earbuds.

We removed the device through the Bluetooth Settings (the three dots in the right upper corner of your device).

Then go to the System > Sound > Input (!!!) Settings.
    Add a Device.

In the best case the Microphone gets installed, the Speaker get installed, and you can finally start using your Earbuds for Video Conferencing.

    Br, Chacky.

I had multiple bluetooth headsets affected. Others stated that deleting the driver "Sound, video and game controllers > Intel Smart Sound technology for Bluetooth Audio" worked for them. I simply disabled it, then rebooted as prompted. After rebooting, I enabled it and the headset microphone worked.

Update: The headset worked fine for a few days and then when I had powered it off between meetings, it stopped working. Switching to a wireless headset with a RF USB receiver.
