My computer cursor won’t click on anything but it moves just fine , this is a windows ten I bought three years ago by the way. Anyone know why?

My computer won’t click on anything at all but it moves just fine. The computer just started acting up this morning. Anyone know why?

    I started having the same issue with my mouse today, after windows 11 version 23H2 update

    I was told to upgrade my windows 10 on my Medion Akoya S2218 laptop by Windows. When the laptop was passed over to me the cursor was working normally as I had communicated with Windows by typing and clicking. Once I started using the laptop on my own the cursor moved but did not 'click onto the object'.

    i have a exact same problem with my Logitech MX 518 and i tried with different pc and laptop with win 10 and 11 ,, the weird thing is, if i use usb to ps2 then conect the mouse with ps2 the problem is solved!! but no lock with usb

    Hi all, in my case it was worn out contacts on the mouse, so a mechanical problem, not a software problem. HTH

    personally i had steam beta doing something similar, you can try running a software HijackThis which will give a log of processes for troubleshooting

    I noticed when I have the problem a small white dot appears over the taskbar in the middle of the screen. After doing a CTRL-ALT-DELETE and clicking twice (click once does nothing) within the dialog box, the white dot fades away and the mouse/cursor functionality returns to normal. This seems to happen at random, and I can't seem to find the offending process.
