My computer cursor won’t click on anything but it moves just fine , this is a windows ten I bought three years ago by the way. Anyone know why?

When is Microsoft going to address this issue? have been happening for over 2 years and there's no fix. no, your ctrl + alt + del it's not a fix, neither Windows Key + L. or a fresh install or a clean boot. NONE are fixes. they're temporary solutions (if you can call having to do a cltr + alt + del EACH MINUTE a temporary solution)

This issue makes your whole OS a brick. it's unusable, not having the ability to click anything anywhere on your OS it's like going anywhere with a car that doesn't have a motor. Microsoft doesn't seem to care about any of its customers since all the replies are from volunteers who gladly seem to help (to some people, none of their fixes helped me). There's no official statement. there's no bug number, no case not anything. just an OS that nobody needed and somehow, it's still the standard.

Such a shameful company.

I just found what caused the issue, that was my alternate mouse logitech m510, the middle button was stuck pressed.

After spending two days on this issue and seeing myriad solutions to what seems to be the same problem many people are/were having and few good solutions I think I have a solution to mine.

I had the intermittent (every two minutes or so!) problem of good curser movement but no reaction when right clicking on anything. This occured on a Logitech USB and my HP 430 both on USB and Bluetooth. The only respite I got was regularly going to Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) which got temporary function back.

I tried many, many things I saw on line and nothing worked. I was on the verge of trying some of the really severe solutions I saw. I finally saw something on another help-line that got me close to a solution.

I went to "Device Manager" and under "Mice and Other Pointing Devices" saw there were 2 listed. An "HID Compliant Mouse" and a "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse". I took a chance and simply removed the "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse" and on reboot everything seems to be fine now.

We'll see if it holds but upon restart I see the PS/2 mouse is listed again but my HP-430 is working fine - on USB.

A couple of hours now with no relapses!

I have 6 windows computers in my house and they all do the same thing. At this point, I'd have to assume it's a windows bug.

I also started having this issue following the 23H2 update.

I found that if I click the start menu and escape out, I can click the desktop icons again.

Anyone know of a permanent fix for this? It's quite annoying.
