cannot rename bluetooth device on Win 11

Just tried this solution and must be my IT policies again, did not work for me unfortunately.

Thanks for the tip although my IT department has blocked that app and I dare say others that work in medium to large organisations will face the same issue.

I finally found it. It's easy, we just need to go to device manager and press the "action" menu at the top then select the device and printer. Then the connected devices will appear. Select the device you want to rename then right click and select the properties menu. Then move to the bluetooth tab and we can change the name there. Don't forget to press apply and ok and reconnect the device

I can confirm Jaivin's solution works.

The important thing is to click the APPLY button after renaming the device, just hitting ENTER/RETURN does not apply the change.

If the device is connected the name will nt change immediately, DISCONNECT it and RECONNECT IT and the name will change.

Doubtless the false trails of this issue are dues to changes MS makes along the way and eventually this method will probably fail when they remove the old devices screen.

I do not understand why we can't use Settings to rename or is that only temporary? If so that should be made super clear!!! Typical design flaw by Microsoft...
