Big problems with M4A after updating to Windows 11 22H2

Dear colleagues, after updating Windows 11 to 22H2, there were significant problems with playing files purchased from iTunes in .m4a (AAC, ALAC) format. This problem has been fixed by a lot of people all over the world and is especially evident on the DJ forums. Problems are observed with the quality of playback, and with the volume and with a number of other parameters. This problem is detected on software that uses the built-in Windows 11 22H2 codecs (on earlier versions, the problem is not observed), Windows Media Player, RekordBox, Serato DJ Pro, etc. On players that use their own codecs (VLC, iTunes, JetAudio HD, etc.) there is no problem. When converting m4a to mp3, there are no problems. I installed KB5035942 and unless I'm severely mistaken, the issue seems to be resolved.

Can anyone else confirm?

    Thanks a lot, IT RINPHARM. We had finally gotten somewhere. And now we're back to nowhere.

    Let me tell YOU something, my friend. Microsoft owes you and us NOTHING here. You chose to buy within another company's ecosystem, and take the results outside of that company's ecosystem. Shame on you, and shame on all of us for doing that. Caveat emptor. MP3 was the open standard, other vendors offered it, it STILL works, and we instead bought from a company with a closed-door reputation and took their licensed product outside of their fiefdom, which they explicitly advised against.

    And we wonder why it now doesn't work.

    M4A still works within Apple's closed-door ecosystem.

    It was never guaranteed to work in Traktor or Rekordbox or anywhere else.

    We gambled...we lost. Microsoft owes you NOTHING.

    You want something else, something better, YOU build it. YOU pay for it.

    from the ground up. I am a DJ but I am also a software developer and I am tired of hearing this kind of $#!t.

    Go F off and find another solution.

    Pete, as I understand it, Microsoft’s mockery of millions of users continues with particular cynicism? The next update came out today, so what? Ahhhh, of course, we need to wait another month? Or two? Or a year? Or five? The guys from Apple will support a massive lawsuit from users, apparently otherwise it will no longer be possible to force Microsoft to do its job honestly. But a class action lawsuit and fines in all countries will apparently help solve the problem instantly, without dragging it out for years. :-(

    You would really save yourself some trouble and angst if you actually read the information I post here. You have shown time and again that you reply without reading.

    Additionally, when/if folks threaten legal action in a thread, Microsoft employees are advised to no longer participate in the thread. So this is it for me here, unfortunately.
