windows 11 black screen after login

recently my windows 11 PC has been showing a black screen after i login. i can still use my cursor, and i can use Ctrl Alt Del to open task manager, but it isn’t very useful as it just closes immediately. i have tried many troubleshooting steps, such as starting in safe mode and editing the bios, among others. but, no matter what i try, nothing works.

i have a prebuilt CyberpowerPC C-series gaming PC from 2019, with an AMD ryzen 5 5600 series CPU, a Gigabyte B450M motherboard, and an AMD geforce RX graphics card ( i do not know the exact model number ). I have made no hardware modifications to the PC.

    Exactly!

Speaking with a Microsoft 365 support, who couldn't help with this as was only an MS Office 365 tech, but admitted that this is a known issue amongst MS Windows techs and is being investigated. Allegedly!

My 11 month old i7 Windows 11 laptop & my fiancé's c. 7y Windows 10 both have suffered with this lately.

when you click ctrl, alt, delete, you should see and click the restart button and that should be good to go from there.

if not, there is more to it.

Yes that's the way ... but not very user friendly to have to restart your PC twice every time.

I solved it by repairing (re-installing with keeping apps) windows however very worry about KB5048685 seems to break win11 on my PC there must be some driver conflict I did not identify yet.
