FSX API.dll

Hi,

Lately my Microsoft Flight Simulator X has been crashing with API.dll as the faulting module.

This is probably caused by a Windows update dating back from April.

There is absolutely nothing one can do to fix this, unless rolling back the update is possible, which it isn't.

The update that's causing the crashes is most likely "KB5025221".

What can I do?

    Does your FSX crash immediately on startup or after you've had the sim running for a while?

    Hi Jessyde,
    I don't use Addon, and anyway I uninstalled everything and reinstalled only FSX. I noticed that the error appears when I install the SP1 but especially SP2 service packs...
    At this precise moment I'm in Live Chat with a Microsoft consultant but we still can't get to the bottom of it... He tells me about resetting the system but I don't want to do it!!

    I uninstalled the latest Windows 10 22H2 update and the error went away again.

    It's an issue that comes and goes with Windows updates

    Maybe a third party addon thats causing the issue? I had API errors as well, but fixed it by not using REX.
