Windows 11 folder keeps reverting back to read only

I have tried CMD checks and fixes. Done a clean boot. Have installed take ownership plug-in. Changed controlled folder access which was set to off. I have replaced the folder with a newly created one and copied the files back into the new one and it has the same issue as the old folder. The folder that is affected is C:\Users\USER\Appdata\Roaming\Vortex\downloads.

I need this folder to not be read only as Vortex cannot function with the folder permissions as they are.

    Even though it's normal, but how to fix this... I tried several methods and they never worked out.

    SO, since every folder has that box checked automagically, every time we review the properties on a folder, and maybe accidently hit "apply" on the way out, we have made the contained files and folders RO? Every darn time? Are you serious?

    Also, as I've stated many times, that checkbox does not change the read-only attribute of the folder. It's only used to change the read-only attributes of files within the folder (and it states that right there on the screen).

    Thanks Aziz! I am the original poster. As soon as I get another client that has this problem I will apply your fix to see if it works and mark solved.

    There are ways to UNINSTALL One Drive altogether from Win11 so I may do that AFTER I unlink One Drive with the PC as you stated.

    My only question is that none of the PC's in question are backing up to One Drive. This is why I think it's a Win10/11 issue of which One Drive is a part of by default.
