Windows 11 folder keeps reverting back to read only
I have tried CMD checks and fixes. Done a clean boot. Have installed take ownership plug-in. Changed controlled folder access which was set to off. I have replaced the folder with a newly created one and copied the files back into the new one and it has the same issue as the old folder. The folder that is affected is C:\Users\USER\Appdata\Roaming\Vortex\downloads.
I need this folder to not be read only as Vortex cannot function with the folder permissions as they are.

2024-07-02T15:19:32+00:00 Oh so as the game said in the dialogue box, a virus-scanner, windows defender was protecting the file, and not in fact read-only. I understand what you mean now that's actually very interesting.

2024-07-02T06:19:28+00:00 It actually is in read only, I am trying to open a game, but the save file which is found in the documents folder, which is protected by onedrive ransomeware protection even when i turn off ransomeware protection, this is only an issue on windows 11 which forces my files on onedrive instead of letting me have agency like in windows 10 and it's super annoying. I attach both the screenshot proving that documents folder is always protected it seems and the fact that in fact my file and his probably actually are in read-only and cannot be ticked off by a human due to the control done by microsoft defender.
If you know how to fix this it would be amazing but I am guessing its a new useless over-the-top security feature companies cant stop shoving down our throats.
this file here called 765..... is a file found in my documents folder forced on read only which contain the save file for my game

2024-04-11T13:08:53+00:00 All I've been asking for is a fix or workaround. Keep it simple!
Let me ask again...IS there a workaround for when someone on a network makes changes to a document on another PC, Word or Excel or ANY, and it either pops up that the doc is READ ONLY or reverts back to READ ONLY and changes are not kept.
Simple question.
Hi Pete,
I cannot find any previous message from you regarding a read-only issue with Office documents. I recommend that you open a new question with an appropriate title, such as "Office documents on network become read-only".
It sounds like your issue is related to multiple users/computers opening the same document. Whether you're seeing expected behavior or a bug will need to be determined via closer examination of the scenario and the messages that are displayed. There may indeed be a simple workaround, but more information is needed.
