Lightshot not working after windows update

1. Disable "Use the Print screen key" in Accessibility-Keyboard.

2. Go to Lightshot's options by right-clicking on the lightshot icon in the taskbar

3. Reassign the PrintScreen key by unchecking-rechecking the "General Hotkey" icon then pressing PrntSc while in the white input box.
   To do so, click in the box, then Press the print screen key, then click OK.

I use lightshot as it's the most convenient tool for taking screen snippets I've ever experienced, but after my new laptop updated last week, lightshot is no longer running from the background. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but did not work.

Please download and install Intel® Driver & Support Assistant, visit the website and update the graphics driver to fix this error (I tried it and it worked).

Is the snipping tool taking the picture if you are trying to use the hotkeys of lightshot?

Hi, after weeks of personal testing, i have found a final solution to this matter.

The problem which occurs happens only when you're having 2 graphic cards, one integrated and second the dedicated.

Mostly it happens on laptops as you'll notice.

Because of integrated cpu's gpu and, the graphic cards, the problem shows up preventing from proper opening the lightshot app.

Just to note, that Intel® Driver & Support Assistant is quite useful, it will not solve the issue.

What will solve this issue will be switching the "nvidia preferred graphics processor" back to "Auto-select", or else "Integrated graphics".

For me, lightshot started working again after I installed these two updates:

2023-07 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5028254)

2023-07 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5028017)

I think the first one (KB5028254) fixes the problem.

If lightshot still not working, reinstall the app and run with admin privileges.
