It says no audio device is installed when I plug in my c920 logitech camera. This just happened recently. They used to work well together before.

    I can confirm I have just done this (with a C922 pro) and it seems to be a fix.

    To give more context from my limited understanding: something in the webcam settings interferes with the Windows Audio service, which shuts down. I have done a LOT of messing about with drivers, switching the normal speakers and mic to "generic software device" and uninstalling, disabling and reinstalling the webcam drivers. It is possible to get a temporary fix this way, but every time you restart, you will have to go through the process again.

    The key part from the solution linked above is turning off the sound enhancements in the webcam. All of the rest is clever work with the Windows Audio service to get it to appear so you can change that setting. Now the drivers for the webcam and the other devices don't clash, and the Windows Audio service is running fine.

    Ironically, I started having this issue when I got a new laptop. The old one was a HP Omen running Windows 11. The new one is also a HP Omen running Windows 11, but a faster, newer, shinier version. This would seem to be an easy fix for Logitech if they could switch off the sound enhancements as default.
