WINDOWS 11 - Doesn't show my calendar on TaskBar

Here is a short hand of what you do like this AWESOME Don Dechamps has so graciously provided us with.

start the program cmd by searching in the windows start/search section on the taskbar.

when that opens, type GPedit and click enter.

after the next window pops up, halfway down is User Configuration. then click Administrative Templates. then click Start Menu and Taskbar.

next, in the right hand pane with all the settings, scroll down and find Remove Notifications and Action Center.

a page pops up to the left pane now. click at the very top, policy setting. At the very left is 3 options. "Not Configured, Enabled and DISABLED.

JUST CLICK DISABLED mine was set to Not Configured.

Microsoft right on that settings page states that for notifications to work it need to be set to not configured OR disabled, but not enabled... LIES TOTAL BS.

Not Configured does NOT work. at least not on my HP PC.

THIS WORKED! THIS WORKED! THIS WORKED! for all people who are running windows 11 and WANT your notification center and calendar to pop up when you click the time/date on the bottom right of the taskbar...... THIS is the SOLUTION! most here are looking to FIX their action center that doesnt work and not simply click on an arrow in the date and time. I never had any arrows like that. NOTHING would open when clicking the date and time. hovering would show the day written and nothing else... if you click on date and time and nothing happens but the time is highlighted, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you click on "remove notifications and action center" in the control panel that pops up after you run GPedit in command prompt "CMD" I found that section under user configuration, then administrative templates then you select start menu and taskbar. you will find "remove notifications and action center" SOMEWHERE after scrolling down. its not in alphabetic order. when you select that remove notifications and action center, instructions pop up to the left. you then click "POLICY SETTING" and you can edit this so it works. click the policy setting and to the left is 3 options. Not Configured, Enabled, and Disabled.

the issue for me is it was set to not configured. right in the instructions below Microsoft states that in "Not Configured" mode, you should have everything working.... NOT THE CASE. LIES. here is what they state "If this setting is enabled, Notifications and Action Center is not displayed in the notification area. The user will be able to read notifications when they appear, but they won’t be able to review any notifications they miss.

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, Notification and Security and Maintenance will be displayed on the taskbar."

SO I HAD to set it to DISABLED for it to work.... there we go. now I click on date and time in the taskbar and everything pops up.

It is there but it doesn't pop when you click on date/time as it did in Windows 10.

Click on date/time ==> click on up arrow right next to date.

Step 1

I found a solve that worked for me. First, I went to task manager and restarted the File Explorer as mentioned in the other posts. (this may or may not be a necessary step, but I don't know for sure because I did step 1 before doing the step below. It may be that you can just go straight to step 2)

Step 2

Then, I left clicked on the date/time in the picture and the pop up box appeared with the notifications tracker on top and the date underneath. Click on the up arrow/carrot that is circled in the picture. That expanded the calendar for me. Looks like default is for it to be collapsed. Hope this helps.
