Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.
In my opinion the message on the phone, "connected without internet" is somehow related to the Energy Saver of your phone. Reset the DNS automatically on your phone, reconnect to the hotspot and use the hotspot for quite a long time and see how long it takes for it to stop or how long after you get the message, "connected without internet".
just tried it, no difference. After a while my phone was connected with no internet, and 30 seconds after that, it disconnected from the hotspot entirely.
Yes you are right, when you mentioned iPad, I understood that your phone was also an iPhone, sorry.
The message "connected, no internet" on Android phones generally appears when the phone is running on battery power or if Power Saving is enabled on the phone. Try powering your phone from an electricity source or disable Power Saver.
I've only got android phones, I don't think I mentioned IOS... maybe when I mentioned my ipad?
but yeah I think this might lie on android's end, I'll see if I can contact samsung support or something like that.
