My windows 11 will not let me download a printer driver. And does not have a choose where to get app in advanced settings

I just purchased a new printer. I keep trying to download driver but windows will not let me open.

I youtubed several videos on how to fix or allow the driver to be downloaded but my computer does not even have the option available! so I do not know what to do.

Hello David,

I am having the same issue with my Brother ink-jet printer MFC-J4335DW. I have a Microsoft Surface running Windows 11 version 24H2. My previous Surface laptop was Windows 10 and I had no issues with my printer but now I cannot download the drivers and receive the error message about that the Scanner Driver 1003. Brother service said it is a problem with version 24H2 on Windows 11 and they have seen it over & over again but cannot help.

I did download the printer driver for the manufacturers website and went to optional updates and it is not there. I cannot see any way to install the driver download from the download file. The driver is just sitting in the file with no where to go. ??
