I just purchased a new printer. I keep trying to download driver but windows will not let me open.
I youtubed several videos on how to fix or allow the driver to be downloaded but my computer does not even have the option available! so I do not know what to do.

Did you manage to get a solution to the mentioned problem as I am experiencing the same problem without a solution.

I'm having the same issue. I get the runaround when I try to get this to work. I have a brother MFC-7360N, an awesome laser printer that works perfectly. I have a laptop purchased in 2023 that is in Windows 11 in s mode.
brother says it's Microsoft's issue to resolve, Microsoft says it's brother's issue to resolve. Why? Because Microsoft says to check with your printer manufacturer, and to resolve the issue brother wants you to update your driver with a download.
Two fantastic electronics that just need to talk to each other. Currently, we are having to save any file that we want to print and email it or use a thumb drive to access it from my husband's work computer, then print from my husband's work computer. What a load of bologna.
Is there perhaps an intermediary piece of equipment that would allow my laptop in 11s to print to my brother printer? I don't want a stupid inkjet. I've had those for a lot of years and they are waste of space because of all the money you have to put into the cartridges that dry out too quickly.
Reading up on the Microsoft 11 release, there is a major push to release a 'solid' OS that is not susceptible to security breaches. And apparently, printer drivers are the number one entry point for hacking (and no I don't understand how the drivers are not bulletproof). So this means, I believe, the printer manufacturers have to adhere to some uSoft printer driver protocol, and that uSoft 11 has the drivers the manufacturers have to design to. Hence allowing you or me to download a much-needed printer driver is not allowed (cuz printer drivers are BAD). Now what the hell one is supposed to do to get your system that you've dutifully upgraded to 11 to play with your new printer does not seem to interest uSoft...it feels like you're on your own to figure this out; purchase a new printer that is sold as Microsoft 11 compatible, move over to a different OS, throw your uSoft laptop-desktop into the trash and buy a Mac, or ??? In our house, we now have a newish printer that has been reboxed and placed into storage. The uSoft laptop running 11 now talks to the Mac's networked printer. Essentially we trashed one printer and are sharing another (which thank the Gods talks to 11 via the network).
