My windows 11 will not let me download a printer driver. And does not have a choose where to get app in advanced settings

I just purchased a new printer. I keep trying to download driver but windows will not let me open.

I youtubed several videos on how to fix or allow the driver to be downloaded but my computer does not even have the option available! so I do not know what to do.

I have a cannon PIMMA MG2900 printer with the driver on cd rom disc but can't download it. help!!

Has anyone found a solution to this I am having this issue on a Ricoh copier and HP printers where it will not install drivers. You can use the Microsoft drivers but they are not very compatible with copiers.

I would think Microsoft would do something about since there are so many complaints about this one instance. I might just uninstall Windows 11 and install Windows 10. I need my driver to work with my printer, I have a home office and i need my printer.

I don't feel comfortable messing with the windows registry myself.

I have been told that Windows 11 indeed sometimes does not recognize the printers. Solution proposed: uninstall and go back to Windows 10.

:-(

Have not done this either hoping for Microsoft to take action in the not too distant future.....
