Can Hearing aids that are Bluetooth capable be used on a Windows 11 laptop?

Oticon has a device call ConnectClip that costs about $250. You place it in a USB port on PC and you can pair through it. I bought the overpriced Oticon hearing aids because of this device. HOWEVER, I have purchased 2 of them and neither of them work well. I sent them back for refund. I bought the second one thinking the first one was just a lemon. It was worse than the first. I do not recommend the device. The sound would cut in and out so I would miss half of the Zoom or Teams conversation. Hard to follow whats being said when you get a few words, then miss a few.

I'm on my second set of Oticon Hearing Aids and my second ConnectClip. You don't "Place it in a USB port" except if you are charging it off your laptop. It pairs with the computer over Bluetooth. I've been using this setup for almost 5 years now and have never had any of the issues you've described. The only problem I've ever had is people walking up behind me and talking to me, not realizing I'm on a call because I'm not wearing a headset.

My thought would be that it's either your laptop having Bluetooth issues or your actual hearing aids are the problem. (As an aside I have actually found it useful when working from home and going from my basement office to the top floor to take my ConnectClip and leave it half way up to extend the range while I'm listening to a meeting and want to go upstairs!)

Regardless, I'm here because my Oticon Intents supposedly do Bluetooth LE and the chipset in my laptop supposedly supports it but so far it seems to be a driver/Windows issue. I'd love to be able to use my laptop without the ConnectClip for simplicity. That said, in the near future our phone system is going away and switching to Teams and I've already found that I can join calls with my iPhone for Audio and my computer at the same time for the large screen and to use the camera. Once we no longer have an internal phone system I'll have much less of a need to use my ConnectClip or PC audio at all until BlueTooth LE comes about.

It sure would be nice to live in a world where tech just WORKS though!

Most likely your hearing aids only support the iPhone hearing aid protocol (and maybe the Android one) but like most hearing aids, do not directly support "normal" Bluetooth found on computers and other devices. My last pair of Oticon OPN1 hearing aids were like that and the only way to use them with a computer or android tablet or FireTV or anything other than my iPhone was with a bridge device I had to buy. The hearing aids would be paired with the bridge device and then it was paired with various (up to 15) Bluetooth devices like my laptop or TV.

My current hearing aids support Bluetooth LE Audio which requires a newer chipset and drivers in the laptop (or TV etc) so sadly I'm still stuck using a bridge device until such time as driver support becomes available in Windows 11 on my particular laptop.

You can use Bluetooth hearing aids on your computer, as long as your PC is Bluetooth (which is the case!)
Just head to Windows Settings > Bluetooth and devices and click on the "Add device" button. Select the "Bluetooth" option and wait for your device to appear.
Make sure your audio device is in pairing mode, so it will appear on your screen.
When you see it, click on it : the pairing will be done.

my old hearing aids always work with windows 10, my new hp with windows 11 does not pare, i have tried all MS advice and tips, doesn't work. I found i do not have le audio technology on my windows 11 version 23H2 . what can i do?
