Can not get my BitLocker recovery key

When going to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey to get the BitLocker recovery keys of my device, I get an error saying:

"Sorry, something went wrong.

We're not sure what happened but refreshing the page may help, or try again in a little while.

TraceId: lBgh0JGs40W+tj6N.30.98"

Same thing when I would go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and then click on "info & support" on my device that I need to recover after blue screening and then "Manage recovery keys", which basically takes me to the link mentioned at the top of this post.

This is very frustrating as I can't start working with my brand new laptop that just crashed on me from day 1.

Any reply from people trying if that link works for them is appreciated.

I can confirm that the Bitlocker recovery key issue is related to One Drive being full. After paying to expand my One Drive storage and waiting 24 hours, I was able to access my Bitlocker recovery key. I read others reporting that you can just delete a bunch of files from One Drive to create space instead of paying to expand your storage. Hopefully Microsoft fixes this bug.

Microsoft!!! The issue persists for more than 3 months. Your updates caused this problem for me and now I cannot use my computer because of it.

Please fix it ASAP. The workarounds provided by other users don't work. Please fix it

    Melissa Monsoor,

Have you checked your OneDrive storage and made sure that it isn't full.

If you want to contact Microsoft then use the Get Help app and enter Chat with an agent this should make the option Contact Support available at the bottom of the window.

The solutions in first pages (create new MicroSoft account then switch back to the intended account, clear browser history, use different browser, use private window browser, etc.) didn't work for me. On the last page they started talking (thanks!) about OneDrive being full, and that was exactly my case! And the case of probably many more who have only a vague idea of OneDrive and are just using the free 5 GB. I deleted all "My Files" in OneDrive in my account, then had to wait (13 hrs I think), then it showed the BitLocker key.

Unbelieveble that MicroSoft already for months keeps showing "Something happened" with a trace ID that is nothing good for, the advice to try again later, and an assistance link that only leads you to circles.

Furthermore, I must note that I have not been aware that the harddrive was encrypted. It must have happened when I associated the new laptop with the MicroSoft account, 2.5 yrs ago, but I'm pretty sure that there was not a message with a lot of exclamation marks explaining what happened and that I should save a certain key at as much different places as possible in order to secure my data.
