Can not get my BitLocker recovery key

When going to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey to get the BitLocker recovery keys of my device, I get an error saying:

"Sorry, something went wrong.

We're not sure what happened but refreshing the page may help, or try again in a little while.

TraceId: lBgh0JGs40W+tj6N.30.98"

Same thing when I would go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and then click on "info & support" on my device that I need to recover after blue screening and then "Manage recovery keys", which basically takes me to the link mentioned at the top of this post.

This is very frustrating as I can't start working with my brand new laptop that just crashed on me from day 1.

Any reply from people trying if that link works for them is appreciated.

    makenna cannon,

This may be buried within the responses to this thread somewhere.

The TraceID error on your account is due to OneDrive on the account being full. Clear some files or buy extra storage to make free space. Access OneDrive via your browser at www.onedrive.com.

You may have to wait 2 to 24 hrs then try your Microsoft account again and the error message should be gone and you will see if there are any BitLocker keys stored.

Yo, what's up. I'm no tech guy just a dude browsing through the web. Try these external sources. #1 and #2 if #1 didn't work. Otherwise you're going to have to reset everything and start from square one. Or just take your computer to a tech guy and watch them spend 2 hours looking at your screen and picking their nose and feeding it to you. Then they will start working on your ****.

So i have two solutions for this, the first one is the one that worked for me, and here the explanation for each one.

First method: it looks like somehow if you dont have the enogh space in your onedrive the server doesn't let you get the keys, maybe they use this space to store them when you want to see them. So thats the solution, free some space in your one drive or almost all, then wait until the server update the status of your onedrive storage.

Second method: As the first method, somehow the server seem to update the state of your account when you switch between accounts. Try to loggin to another account and then switch to the account where you want to see the keys.

The second method didnt work for me so i tried the first one, and it didnt work at first, waited until the morning and when i logged in there were the keys!!!.

The solutions in first pages (create new MicroSoft account then switch back to the intended account, clear browser history, use different browser, use private window browser, etc.) didn't work for me. On the last page they started talking (thanks!) about OneDrive being full, and that was exactly my case! And the case of probably many more who have only a vague idea of OneDrive and are just using the free 5 GB. I deleted all "My Files" in OneDrive in my account, then had to wait (13 hrs I think), then it showed the BitLocker key.

Unbelieveble that MicroSoft already for months keeps showing "Something happened" with a trace ID that is nothing good for, the advice to try again later, and an assistance link that only leads you to circles.

Furthermore, I must note that I have not been aware that the harddrive was encrypted. It must have happened when I associated the new laptop with the MicroSoft account, 2.5 yrs ago, but I'm pretty sure that there was not a message with a lot of exclamation marks explaining what happened and that I should save a certain key at as much different places as possible in order to secure my data.
