Installation Failure for 2023-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031356) 0x8007000D

This is a microsoft problem and microsoft needs to correct it ASAP. It failed to install on my desktop Win 10 which unfortunately is not compatible with Win11. It tried to install at least 3 times failing each time until I stopped the updates for 7 days. Another update worked on 10-11 and still another worked on 10-12. But, now my computer is really going slow and acting strange. Am currently running the DISMs and so far no problems showing. Which microsoft would provide a patch to correct this failure. Also, checked for viruses and malware and all checked out ok!

Really wish they would address this problem. I ran all of the suggestions other than reinstalling Win 10 and nothing worked for me either. If the other update work why doesn't this one?

Microsoft will not fix this. You will get untold pages of promises and gibberish, but this update needs to be replaced with one that works. If Microsoft gave a damn about us they'd test updates before sending them out.

I now have an endless loop whereby my PC attempts to install this update every time I reboot.

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps the update is not compatible with our win 10 22H2 computers. Still don't understand why the other update that day and another update two days later worked but not this update. I also stopped auto updates now for the 2nd week hopefully so that microsoft will have a fix or an updated kb5031356 that works soon.

If they say the problem has been resolved why won't it download and install then???

Thanks for your reply. Hope Microsoft gets the message and addresses this problem. My computer with the problem is HP Pavillion desktop that came with win 8.1 and successfully updated to win 10 but it is not compatible with win 11. It works great and I was hoping to keep it going until support ends for win 10. I sorta thought that this update is preparing for win 11 and that it is not compatible with my graphics card or maybe some other hardware on my computer. Hope Microsoft comes up with a fix for this problem and provides a comprehensive update that works on my computer and the many others that I see here and on Reddit that are having the same problem with this update.
