This is another helpful information.
Both times that the PCs had the USB disconnect issue was when I used the front panel USB 3 for my external SSD. I'll wait another day to see if the issue stopped with the steps I already took, then I'll try the USB 3 at the back of the PC for my external drive see if that'll still trigger the issue.
L.E.: Well, I guess front panel/external drive being the culprit can be taken out of the equation, I turned off everything yet it still happened twice.
L.L.E: Another friend just told me that he has the same issue while playing "The Finals". So this is a wider issue.
Update: I've started having them more often yesterday, today I updated my BIOS [wasn't updated in 3 years], and I also installed the motherboard's chipset drivers.
This means that ticking off the "Let windows turn of this device to save power" is not the issue.
The updates did creep back in without me actually installing them.
I'll see if the updated bios and chipset drivers did the trick.
