Hi,

I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar

Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)

The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Files, folders, and storage

Unfortunately, I tried Windhawk and it broke several things in Windows. And all I had done thus far was to adjust the size of the taskbar a tiny bit, just to try it out. So yeah, not very trusting of that program. I'm reasonably tech literate, and have a fairly simple system setup, so there's not any weird variables that could have caused the issues, other than Windhawk. Not saying it doesn't work for others, but if a simple tweak causes multiple issues, that's alarming.

That said, I've been stopping any "feature" updates for Windows 11 for a couple months now because of the address bar nonsense. Most of the time since this started, there was a simple command line tweak that reverted just the address bar back to it's former functionality, but they found a way to disable that with one of the recent updates.

Now they are making us wait until the next major update to get this simple function back, which means we also have to have all the new AI **** shoved down our throats with it. *Sigh* I've been a Windows user forever but lately I've been thinking of switching to something else for the first time. Unfortunately, every other option is just doing the same things, or worse (Apple), so there's kind of nowhere to go. If only Linux was a realistic option, without losing a lot of functionality. Ok, rant over!

You strike me as the guy who would love this for some reason.

Check out rectify11, DWMBlurGlass and ExplorerBlurMica.

You can get a full glass effect that looks absolutely beautiful with these tools.

    Here's a picture for reference.
