How do I get rid of Copilot?

I don't know what happened other than my computer was unplugged and I plugged it back in. Poor design on the part of the manufacturer. The plug in the back of the machine should be very secure.

But apparently there was some sort of update because the computer got turned off. And something popped up suggesting Bing could do this or do that. Anyway, there is a logo at the bottom of the screen that is distracting and I'd like to get rid of it. Maybe that's all I need to do.

I am sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue. To disable the Copilot, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Windows/Start button > Type Settings and open it.
  2. Go to Personalization > Choose Taskbar > Toggle off the Copilot.
  3. Check if the Copilot is disabled or not. It if it is not, please restart your computer and check.

So far Copilot has not made another appearance, nor does it seem to running anywhere on my PC.

    The above display does NOT appear in Windows 10. Co-pilot is NOT on the taskbar, nor is there an "AI" section under system/settings.

    The question was how to get 'rid' of the program - in other words, remove it from the computer entirely so it never start up again.

    Your procedure will only 'turn it off' and does not remove it from the PC.

    For some odd reason, it seems to be tied to Microsoft Bing and I don't want that either, but none of these show up in the "Programs and Features" listing in the control panel - so they can NOT be gotten rid of (uninstalled) from there either.

    I do NOT have Microsoft Explorer installed either and do not want it as I prefer using a different search engine for my searches. All the suggestions about modifying the registry seem rather pointless - if Bing, and Explorer and Co-pilot are not already there, then I see no reason to add these keys just to turn off what should not be there to begin with???

    I would really like to have a valid solution to the problem.
