Disappearance of Windows 11 Taskbar Icons after Switching Virtual Desktops

In Windows 11's built-in virtual desktop feature, there is a high probability that icons of active applications on the current desktop may not be displayed when switching between different virtual desktops. The icons only appear when I click on the respective application. I have attempted to resolve the issue through restarts and using Sfc and Dism for repairs, but the problem persists. An essential configuration to note is that the taskbar is set to display windows only from the current desktop.

    This is still an issue. I have had it for months and found no reliable permanent fix.

    The solution which does not require any additional software or disabling animations:

    1. Open CMD as administrator,
    2. reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\IrisService /f && shutdown -r -t 0
    3. Immediately after pressing Enter, the device will reboot - save your files before running the command.

    Tested in Windows 11 24H2, icons stopped vanishing when switching virtual desktops.

    I use a lot multiple desktop and it's becoming kind of annoying to guess what icon belongs to each application.

    How can Microsoft let this issue being dragged so much?

    Same issue here. Happens while using multiple desktops, and icons come and go randomly after switching between desktops.
