Hi BSODboi2! My name is David. I am a user of Microsoft products like you, and it is a pleasure to greet you.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with installing the "2023-11 Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5033560)" on your Windows 11 Education system. The error code "0x80070643" typically indicates a problem during the installation process. Let's try some steps to resolve this issue:

    1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:
    • Type "Troubleshoot" in the Windows search bar and select "Troubleshoot settings."
    • Under "Get up and running," click on "Windows Update," and then click "Run the troubleshooter."
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix any issues with Windows Update.
    1. Ensure that you have enough free disk space on your system drive (usually C:) to accommodate the update. Sometimes, lack of space can cause installation failures.
    2. Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or firewall software you have installed. Sometimes, these security programs can interfere with Windows updates.
    3. A clean boot can help identify and disable any third-party applications or services that might be causing conflicts during the update. To perform a clean boot, follow these steps:
    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog, type "msconfig," and press Enter.
    • In the System Configuration window, go to the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services," and then click "Disable all."
    • Next, go to the "Startup" tab and click "Open Task Manager." Disable all startup items in Task Manager.
    • Close Task Manager and go back to the System Configuration window. Click "Apply" and then "OK."
    • Restart your computer and attempt the update again.

Let me know if the shared information has been helpful. Regards.

Hi BSODboi2! Thanks for staying in touch and for reporting the results of the processes. In this situation, we can try the following steps related:

    1. Ensure that all your device drivers are up to date, especially graphics and chipset drivers. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause update issues. I recommend that you update the drivers from the official website of your PC or motherboard manufacturer, depending on the case.
    2. Run the System File Checker (SFC):
    • Press the Windows key + S, type "cmd," and right-click on "Command Prompt" or "Windows Terminal." Select "Run as administrator."
    • In the elevated Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

Let the tool scan and repair system files. This may take some time.

    1. Occasionally, issues with the Windows Update Store can lead to update errors. To reset it, follow these steps:
    • Press the Windows key + S, type "cmd", right-click on "Command Prompt," and select "Run as administrator".
    • Enter the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

Let me know if the shared information has been helpful. Regards.
