Windows will not run the following update:

2023-11 Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5033560)

I receive install error "0x80070643"

    Wait. The procedure is not yet complete. The Recovery partition needs to be set up now.

    Run:

    • diskpart
    • sel par 3 -- Where partition #3 is your 647 MB Recovery partition
    • assign letter=S
    • gpt attributes=0x0000000000000000
    • exit
    • md S:\Recovery\WindowsRE
    • xcopy /h C:\Windows\System32\Recovery\winre.wim S:\Recovery\WindowsRE
    • label S: Recovery
    • del c:\windows\system32\recovery\reagent.xml /a
    • reagentc /disable
    • reagentc /setreimage /path S:\Recovery\WindowsRE /target C:\Windows

    Nevermind. I manually moved this file to my desktop (outside of the instructions from this documentation) and then again into C:\windows\system32\Recovery.

    This has not solved the install error. Please advise.

    These instructions are incomplete. I followed all of these steps and receiving the following error:

    "cannot open output file: access is denied"

    Is there documentation on an actual Microsoft website for this process? This website is full of pop ups and full-screen ads. It does not feel trustworthy.

    The winre.wim image is missing. Please extract a copy of the file from the ISO. The instructions in this article (using 7-Zip) should help. After extracting winre.wim, copy it to "C:\windows\system32\Recovery".
