How do I get Windows 11 to detect my CD drive?

    CD is Rioddas, external drive, no changes recently purchased, no error messages, device not listed, no other computer

    Hi the technician...my is Mr Ernest I am using the laptop Dell Inspiron 15 5667 model .

    1. CD Drive model : 9.5mm Ultra Slim DU-8A5LHFW-02／6D5N
    2. in the Management Drive CD Drive showed yellow mark and the CD error code is "10"
    3. my laptop system is Windows. 11

    May I question to you do I need to replace another internal CD Drive ?

    please guide me step-by-step how to do it and slove my problem many thanks and have a nice day.

    Check that the CD drive is being detected in the bios screen if not then check cables are correcting attached to the CD and to the Motherboard.

    If the bios is detecting the CD drive then sound like software installation issue or corrupt operating system is occurring.

    If its external CD drive ensure you are using the correct USB port and type.

    Now if its software for CD determine the CD drive type and model locate its software and install it.

    if after you try all this check to ensure its not faulty Cable or CD Drive unit by taking it to another computer and checking it that way.
