How do I get Windows 11 to detect my CD drive?

    When I insert a blank cd nothing happ;ens and it worked a couple days ago

    In Windows 11 there is NO "Update &Security". There is "Windows Update" and "Privacy & security that are separate.

    Major mistakes like that prove you are a **** and NO suggestions you provide can be trusted.

    Answers:

    1. I have tried 2 CD drives and get the same problem
    2. This is an external CD drive
    3. This happens (after 2-3 days) with or without new programs and updates.
    4. The CD drive does not show up on the computer at all and running the device search shows nothing.
    5. The CD drive is not listed
    6. The CD drive(s) - different manufacturers - works after resetting the computer to "factory setting" - for a limited amount of time

    I would try changing the drive letter in Disk Management if the drive shows up there.

    Thanks, mine works too now. Just needed to be more patient lol. I'm actually a star trek armada 2 player but I need help setting it up on my windows 11. Still working that out thanks.
