2024-12-12T15:53:41+00:00 In my case it boiled down to the endless attempts by Microsoft to push the Xerox printer drivers. Not sure why they are so badly needed on the machines without any Xerox printers connected or on their network. (Respective errors in the "Administrative Events".) It took some time to Google some solutions. The following seems to be working for me on W10 and W2016 :The first part requires editing registry so all the standard precautions to be observed.
A) Advice was picked from the site that I deeply respect :Tutorial: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-enable-disable-driver-updates-windows-update-windows-10-a.htmlB) Unfortunately I lost the source of the second part of the solution.
Open Windows Control Panel;Open "Printers and Devices";Right-click on the icon representing this computer;Left-click "Device Installation settings";The default option is "Yes (recommended)"In my version of W10 I change to "No" (your device might not work as expected)(Some flavours of Windows may have more options);Restart your PC;It is my understanding that the driver updates fail to install and create a conflict with the other pending updates.
And again a proper solution should come from the Microsoft instead of us trying everything we are able to find on the WEB. -
