My printer has worked fine until a month or two. Since then it keeps going offline. I have updated software drivers etc. I need to poke around with troubleshooters etc every time to get it to work. It's then fine for that session but the problem comes back every time i turn it off. Is there any solution to this?

I AM HAVING SAME PROBLEM BRAND NEW HP WINDOWS 11 LAPTOP AND BRAND NEW HP SMART TANK 5100 IT GOES OFFLINE AFTER A PRINT JOB / I JUST UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED AND AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS MY VERY OLD 8 YR OLD HP CHEAP PRINTER IS STILL PRINTING . ITS THE NEW SMART TANK THAT WONT KEEP ONLINE SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE I HAVE SPENT HOURAS ON END WITH THIS NEW PRINTER VERY FRUSTRATING
Same issue. I can't get my HP printer, which formerly worked fine with my HP laptop running Windows 11, to work anymore.
Until this weekend, I USED to be able to click on the printer Troubleshooter, and this would fix the issue. HOWEVER, since the last Windows update pushed out c. February 21, 2025, it seems they got rid of the Troubleshooter!
This is a KNOWN ISSUE. WHY did Microsoft get RID of the ONE TOOL that fixed it? This is terrible code-writing, tone-deaf customer relations, just a total middle finger to people who are paying license fees to use Microsoft's software. Corporations suck.
same problem with Brother printer. constantly goes off line. If I reinstall the entire system it only works for a day.
Same problem and have to unplug and plug in to go online again, very frustrating!
Same problem started a month or so ago with Epson et-2876 on windows 10. After numerous tests it would seem that in a windows "session" from a fresh boot all is well for printing. During that session if you switch the printer off and at a later time on again to print - it won't. Print queue says its printing and it ain't. However, if you do a restart out pops the print. So switching the printer on and off seems to cause it to lose connection. But how to fix?
