Printer keeps going "offline" Windows 11

My printer has worked fine until a month ago. Since then it keeps going offline. I have updated software drivers etc. I need to poke around with troubleshooters etc every time to get it to work. It's then fine for that session but the problem comes back every time i turn it off. Is there any solution to this?

Why must we endure this? I have to believe there is a tech representative and/or update that could correct this issue. When I need to print, it takes half my day to get it working again. Between HP and Windows support, this should not be allowed to continue to happen. I have had to do so many things to get it working again that I cannot recall what actually works.

This solution did not work for me either. I'm using an Epson Printer now and it is having the same "offline" issue that my HP printer had. This tells me it is a Windows issue not a printer issue.

The only thing that works is for each session to turn the printer off, unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in and turn the printer on. But, whay should we have to do this everytime?

Come on Microsoft; please resolve this issue!

I have done this countless times. HP support tried too. The printer works on a windows 10 laptop but not on my Windows 11 PC, it will not connect. It can "see it" but tells me to turn it on in order to connect, it is turned on.

I just had that happen to my HP printer. After a lot of searching here and on the HP site, I found a suggestion to restart the PC and unplug the printer, then plug the printer back in once the PC opens again. It worked. I can't say if it's a permanent fix at this point, since it does indeed sound like a Windows 11 problem. But if you need to access your printer, it can't hurt.

Very late to the party here, but my Windows 11 machine does the same thing after every reboot, but it loses all printers, USB and Wi-Fi and virtual printer drivers like Microsoft PDF Print and CutePDF.  I can’t even use the Microsoft office Save As PDF option.

I agree that it happened after some update earlier this year but I found the simplest solution to bring all the printers back and it only takes about 60 seconds.  Go to the control panel and select Printers & Scanners.  You will see all of the printers off-line there, simply hit Add Device, let it discover everything, and within 60 seconds ALL of your printers will be back online and usable without any reinstalling or messing with any Wi-Fi network settings.  Annoying, but simple enough that I can live with this until Microsoft acknowledges the issue and solves the underlying problem.
