My printer has worked fine until a month or two. Since then it keeps going offline. I have updated software drivers etc. I need to poke around with troubleshooters etc every time to get it to work. It's then fine for that session but the problem comes back every time i turn it off. Is there any solution to this?

This really is dreadful and can't imagine Microsoft hasn't completely found a fix for it. I have not had as much trouble since the last upgrade. Still happens sometime, says off line, they if I wait, in utter frustration, it will just start printing. This happens for both my Brother and Cannon printers. Come on Microsoft, you can do better than this.
have fount that if I go to Print Spooler and turn it off, wait a few seconds, then turn it on, that helps as well. Should not be necessary.
Same problem, every time I disconnect from the dock I have to reboot the laptop with the printer ON in order to reconnect to it. This is a Windows 11 issue as I never had this problem until forcibly upgraded to 11.
Very late to the party here, but my Windows 11 machine does the same thing after every reboot, but it loses all printers, USB and Wi-Fi and virtual printer drivers like Microsoft PDF Print and CutePDF. I can’t even use the Microsoft office Save As PDF option.
I agree that it happened after some update earlier this year but I found the simplest solution to bring all the printers back and it only takes about 60 seconds. Go to the control panel and select Printers & Scanners. You will see all of the printers off-line there, simply hit Add Device, let it discover everything, and within 60 seconds ALL of your printers will be back online and usable without any reinstalling or messing with any Wi-Fi network settings. Annoying, but simple enough that I can live with this until Microsoft acknowledges the issue and solves the underlying problem.

This is an exceptionally frustrating issue. After the computer that was connected to the printer was updated (it hadn't been updated in quite some time, specifically to avoid such quirks), other network computers can no longer connect to the shared printer. Yes, we've cleared the spooler, yes we've tried reinstalling the printer from the networked computers. We see the printer, but can't connect.
Even after updates still can't print from my Windows 11 PC, I can print from my aged Windows 10 laptop. Microsoft have fixed the bug that was dropping VPN connections, I hope they do the same with this one, it seems, to me, that its definitely a W11 bug.
