How to disable Windows 11 automatic reboots?

There are labs all over the world that have to lock their computers down from changes. How do those labs disable updates permanently until they review them and determine if they should be applied?

There is an answer to this, but Microsoft will not give it to us and Microsoft trolls cutting and pasting garbage answers on here like the first answer in this thread from Santana or moronic responses like the one from questions underscore only exacerbate those of us dealing with a real problem.

I will try the batch file option presented by McLaughlin, but I find it infuriating that users have to jump through all sorts of hoops just to stop the computer from being destruction. Thanks in advance McLaughlin, I really do appreciate your help.

Now I remember why I switched to Mac over a decade ago and hate myself for letting me be talked into another PC.

So a cause of an unexpected shutdown... is an unexpected shutdown.

And a manual shutdown is unexpected, despite it being manual.

Why is forced rebooting a thing at all? The reason I use Microsoft as opposed to Apple WAS that I had control of the machine and I could customize it's operation to fit me and my work. Forcibly taking control of the machine like this and giving us users no options to something as simple as keeping the machine on is not how an operating system should function. I know that Microsoft doesn't care AT ALL about user feedback and how people might want to use their software. So largely I'm just commiserating with the rest of you. There is no hope. Put that out of your mind. Microsoft will not listen or change. We must just adapt and fight with third party solutions and hacks to make our machines do basic tasks. So keep doing what you can and I appreciate everyone who posts their workarounds and solutions. Thank you to everyone who has these same problems and keeps posting. Makes me feel like I'm not the only one who enjoys a computer they can control.

Too many steps and still you have a cmd command running every 12 hours a day.

Step 1: Ge the Run dialog by pressing Win + R, type regedit, and click OK to launch Registry Editor.

Step 2: Click Yes to grant admin access in the pop-up window.

Step 3: Go to the path – Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows.

Step 4: Right-click on the Windows folder and choose New > Key. Name it as Windows Update.

Step 5: Right-click on Windows Update and select New > Key. Name the new key as AU.

Step 6: Click on the newly created key, right-click on the empty space and choose New > DWORD (32-bit Value). Name it as NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUser.

Step 7: Double-click on the new item, set Base to Hexadecimal, set Value data to 1, and click OK to save the modification.

wow I made a real mistake buying windows for video editing. Their reboots are going to put me out of business. My software is in the middle of a render and I check on it and its some ridiculous log on because it rebooted when I DID NOT tell it to. My do microsoft engineers and managers hate me?
